I must thank you for making a fridge that is only 61 inches tall. I was worried that replacing my fridge might have to involve a saw. Luckily for me your "GE 15.7 cu. ft. Top Freezer Refrigerator" fits exactly where my very old fridge was.
I bought your fridge from a local dealer and brought it home. It was nice and white. It unpacked well. After it was all setup I noticed that the wire freezer rack was missing. Simple enough, I would just go back to the dealer and let them know it wasn't in the packaging.
As it turns out you don't include the wire freezer rack in this model. I would have to buy a model two sizes up (which doesn't fit my fridge hole) to get a free freezer rack. For me and my little fridge you require me to spend another $35 (5% total value of the fridge) to get a piece that cannot cost more than $1 to make. You also, pardon my French, have me by the balls. Where else can I get a GE freezer rack? It's not like I can pick one up at the super market.
If you find it in your corporate heart to make this right I'd like my money back for the wire rack. I expected it to be included in the hundreds of dollars I paid for the fridge. Also, please include wire freezer racks for your future customers. You don't want to become like the printer companies who don't include cables with their products and have ruined Christmas for countless families.
Sincerely,
Dan James

Twelve years ago we bought a GE slide-in range. We paid $1500 which was a lot then. Two years ago, when the warranty ran out we started having problems with the oven turning itself off. When this grew worse we contacted the dealer and received no help. No parts available!! We then contacted GE and were told that ten years is all we should expect of a kitchen range. I'm sure that the general public would like to know that this is the policy of GE. Built-in obsolescence at ten years with no replacement parts. Either they knew the product was garbage when they made it, so they didn't manufacture parts, or it was so bad that they quickly ran out of parts. No satisfaction from anyone at GE, garbage product and an even worse response from their representatives! Beware! Get a guarantee of parts supply! With this company the customer is always wrong!

Do not buy the extended warrarty that Major Retailers, like HOME DEPOT, CIRCUIT CITY,
and others offer. GE will not live up to it warranty responsibilities. They (GE) are slow to respond, and use contractors to do the repairs, that could care less about fixing your problem. They might also order parts for your repair that are not necessary for the repair.
After waiting for a month for my repair, I finally ordered the parts and had to hire an outside appliance contractor.
Also, do not anticipate that GE will re-imburse for the expense you incurr.
BEWARE OF GE EXTENDED WARRANTIES..

I purchased a GE front load washing machine at the end of February and it was delivered on March 8, 2007. On April 5 the inflow valve stuck and it flooded my laundry room, came down through the floor into the ceiling in the kitchen and was dripping on my brand new laminate floors. It was Easter weekend and to say the least, I was not happy. Home Depot did bring me a brand new machine on April 9 and I loved it until July 21. I won't go into all the details here but suffice it to say that Home Depot can't help you after you've had the appliance for more than 30 days and GE won't help you at all. It is now August 31, the repairman has been here 5 times, I've talked to GE customer serivce 8 times, I've spent $132 at the laundromat, it's Labor Day weekend, I have 2 kids bringing home laundry from college, and I STILL don't have a working washing machine in my house. GE at one point offered me $25 OR a 3 month extension on my warranty for my time and trouble.
Moral of the story....NEVER buy from GE. They do not stand behind their products and if I got TWO defective machines, there's a good chance YOURS will be too!

We have a GE microwave model #JVM 1650 that shuts itself off after 3-5 seconds. You then have reset it and not just once but several times. Today, I spoke to GE customer service and explained the situation and the response was oh, my. I mentioned that problems with this microwave were discussed all over the internet and she told me that was hearsay. I questioned why people would have nothing better to do that make up problems with this microwave. Long and short, I can pay $79 to have a service call to diagnose the problem that they are fully aware of and then if I decide to fix it the $79 will be taken off the invoice since we are out of warranty. I am at this point totally disgusted with this whole situation. I have an over the stove microwave I can't use and a company that does not value its customers. Has anyone ever written to GE and did they get any results. That is my next step besides posting my problems wherever I can. Don't even think of purchasing GE microwave.

Read Dan's comments above about the lack of a freezer rack. My mother-in-law recently moved into a retirement community that has a GE refrig/freezer (apartment size) without a freezer rack. I cannot find one anywhere. The model # is TBX16SIZGARD. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated....
