I had to fly to San Francisco for a few days this week to attend a few meetings: or, as we call it around the office, "doin' the business". Before I left I read warnings that most of California was in a heat wave and it was also on fire. I griped about leaving beautiful PEI in the summer for a hot and fiery place.
It turns out that a magical combination of ocean breezes and bay currents have kept the heat away from San Francisco. If you travel 30 minutes in any direction you are in scorching 37c+ heat (100f+). Here in the city we crested at a toasty but pleasant 28c (83f) with a nice cool breeze.
Ironically all reports from back on PEI say it's oppressively hot and humid. Who would have thought that you'd beat the heat by going to California in July?
