I'm a total sucker for Tim Horton's Roll Up The Rim To Win contest. It's the only contest/promo that works on me. I'm also a statistical anomaly. I've gone 83 cups without winning a single thing. Not even a freaking cookie.
Here are a few things that are "new" this year:
- A free donut can be used for a muffin, donut, or cookie
- A free coffee can be used for any sized hot drink
Now for the icing on the cake. You can get a free cup mailed to you just by writing:

I just won a free coffee this morning. The first thing I've won in nearly two years from roll up the rim, and I purchase about 5 - 10 cups of Tim's every week...

They should put the contest on the softdrink cups too...

you only get a 1 year lease with the cars that sucks
Dan James - March 16, 2006 5:10 pm
Chris,
Actually this year it seems the car is not a lease. You actually win the car.
Jon Lin - March 17, 2006 5:21 pm
You're quite the statistical anomaly... The chance your case happening is 0.0057%, and 99.9% of the general population would do better than you! Even harder to believe: someone in Canada, with extraodinary luck, has a higher chance of winning 18 food prizes (0.236%) than winning absolutely nothing?
I guess it has to happen to someone. Hope your odds are better this year!
Dan James - March 18, 2006 12:58 am
I'm now at 0 for 90... It's a running joke in my office.
Linda - March 18, 2006 12:35 pm
The lease on the vehicle prize is an urban myth. If you win this prize, you will own it. It has always been that way. I don't know where these things get started.
Dan James - March 18, 2006 11:15 pm
Today I finally won. 1 for 91! Sadly it was just a donut.

the car is no lease it's yours to keep but you pay the taxes
Cheryl Menkhorst - March 23, 2007 8:08 pm
Actually, the cars haven't always been just given away. Last year (Or one of the 3 other years I worked at tims) I read the contract and it was a lease (I had a discussion with everyone there about how rediculous it was). But yea, I'm pretty sure it hasn't always been the way it is this year.
Jamie - March 30, 2007 2:35 am
I would love to win more than a coffee ( well,6 or 7 and buying 1 EVERY MORNING) and a donut . If I won the 1000, it would pay for my trip to Newfoundland, where it all started, I've always wanted to check that place out.
Canadian Gurl - April 13, 2007 10:55 pm
Oh my goodness guys!!! Almost a year later I find this post, and how odd too! Yesterday, I just sent my winning tab for an iPod! Registered mail and all! Soooo wierd... good luck, eh!

I was one of the lucky winners this year of the Toyota Camry. It is in fact mine to keep, with a full tank of gas and all taxes and fees paid by Timmy's. All I had to do was insure it. I got the car last Wednesday in front of the Tim Horton's where the coffee was purchased. It even made the local news.
I was one of those people who never wins anything. Keep rolling those rims.
